AN EVENING WITH FAILLA WINERY
We were thrilled to have Failla Winery and Top Chef Gregory Gourdet in the house for a special dinner. Failla owner/winemaker Ehren Jordan is branching out from California's Napa Valley to produce wines in the Willamette Valley. He shared his winemaking journey and a preview of his newest Oregon wines. Chef Gregory Gourdet of Departure restaurant, joined by our own Sarah Schneider, served a menu that made the most of the fall season in five courses. Among the dishes: Dungeness crab, spiced braised greens, butternut squash soup, and roast duck breast. The wine pairings included Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Oregon Pinot Noir.
